Schedule*Master Version 1.1 Additional Information
This file contains last-minute additions or enhancements to either the
Schedule*Master system or documentation.
This release would not have been possible if not for the support of my beta
testers. To Ray, Charlotte, John, and Fred I send my sincere thanks - I
couldn't have done it without your help.
Schedule*Master Registration Information
Schedule*Master is distributed under the 'Shareware' concept. Shareware
basically means that you have the opportunity to try the software before you
pay for it! If you like the program and intend to use it then you are expected
to register it. If the software is of no use to you then simply delete the
program from the disk - you've lost nothing.
You are encouraged to copy and distribute this program freely as long as the
following conditions are met :
1 - No profit may be made from its distribution. A reasonable
handling fee not to exceed $5.00 may be charged however.
2 - The program must not be altered in any way.
Registered users will receive :
1 - Low-cost upgrades.
2 - Technical support VIA mail, GENIE, or Compuserve.
3 - A printed copy of this manual.
4 - A copy of the registered version of the software excluding the
shareware notice.

Release Notes
=============
02/16/91 Version 1.1
----------------------
There have been many enhancements and a few fixes added to this release.
The enhancements are listed first, followed by fixes.
Enhancements
- Ability to detect if SM is running in another session.
- Added ability to 'G'o to a date from within a day's display.
- When adding/displaying a record the date is shown in the data entry
window.
- Weekly time graph is available by person (or all).
- When editing a record, the tab key will move between all fields.
- It is now possible to delete records from the search results display.
- Added a record counter to the mass delete function so that you are
informed of the # of records deleted.
- Added a confirm box to the repeat event function.
- Added note records to the todo report section of the daily report.
- When printing from a daily view the priority is now included in the
report.
Fixes
- Fixed color problem when clearing screen between pages in the
enhanced search display.
- Fixed problem that occurred when the data file grew larger than
64k.
- Fixed display problem that caused Schedule*Master to crash the system
when run under Desqview.
- Removed the dynamic memory allocation routines, as they were causing
problems on IBM 3270 PC's and in the DOS compatibility mode of OS/2.
Deleted records are now simply 'flagged' as deleted and a separate
compress utility was added to reduce the size of files with deleted
records in them. See the documentation file for more details.
Some of the bugs resulted in the files becoming corrputed after a period
of time. Registered users will receive a fix program that will correct
these problems.
If you are using any type of task-switching software (such as Software
Carrousel) or multi-tasking system (such as DESQVIEW or WINDOWS) DO NOT run
Schedule*Master in two sessions at the same time. This will cause your files
to become corrupted and will produce intermittant errors. If you do try
to run Schedule*Master in 2 sessions you will be warned when the second
session begins to reply Y or N to continue. Replying Y will allow the
session to run, hoever if you really do have another session going your
files will be corrupted.
An additional printer driver has been included called SMDRIVER.STR. This
driver is for the Star NX1000 Multifont printer. To use it :
1 - Rename SMDRIVER.DAT to SMDRIVER.IBM
2 - Rename SMDRIVER.STR to SMDRIVER.DAT
Although the IBM driver will work with the Star printer, it is not as
efficient as using the Star driver.
If you experience any problems at all, or want to make a suggestion for
improving Schedule*Master please contact me at the address listed below. I
will make every effort to eliminate any bugs reported as soon as possible.

Misc.Notes
==========
Documentation is provided on the distribution diskette as files
SMDOC.TXT - Main documentation file in ASCII format.
Note that the screen image figures are not
included in the disk-based documentation,
nor are the sample reports.
README.DOC - Last minute notes
You may view any of these files by typing the following command :
TYPE filename|MORE
Substitue the 'filename' with the name of the documentation file you wish to
view. The |MORE will cause the display to stop scrolling when the screen
becomes full and waits for you to press any character. In order for this to
work properly you must have the file MORE.COM in a directory accessible via a
PATH statement (see the DOS manual for instructions on the PATH statement).
You may also enter TYPE FILENAME and simply display the file continuously on the
screen.
You may print any of the files by typing the following command :
PRINT filename
Again, substitute the 'filename' with the name of the file you wish to print.
The file PRINT.COM must be in a directory accessible via a PATH statement in
order for this to work. If you don't have PRINT.COM (??) then try :
COPY filename PRN
Substitute 'filename' with the name of the file you wish to print.
